This year's Yu-Hsiu Ku Electrical Engineering Award was given to Chen Chen, professor with Shanghai Jiao Tong University, at the annual meeting of the Chinese Society for Electrical Engineering (CSEE) held in Beijing on November 11.
Chen is the first woman winner of this award. She has carried out fruitful work in dynamic analysis and modeling of power systems.
In her speech, Chen stated that the award is an honor for all the researchers in the electrical engineering field. As one of the researchers of the older generation, Chen felt fulfilled in contributing to the modernization of China's electrical engineering industry and to its electrical engineering education.
Chen also hopes that the young researchers can work hard to make greater contributions to the implementation of China's 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-2025).
